Module 1: Introduction to Computers
This module covers the basic understanding of computers including the definition and types of computers, input and output devices, fundamentals of operating systems, file and folder management, and the use of basic computer components.
Module 2: Microsoft Word
This module provides comprehensive knowledge of working with MS Word including how to create, save, and open documents, text formatting such as font size, color, bold, italic, underline, page setup including margins and orientation, paragraph alignment, indentation, and line spacing. Students will also learn to insert tables, use bullets and numbering, add headers and footers, insert page numbers, use find and replace tools, perform spelling and grammar checks, and use the mail merge feature for letters and labels.
Module 3: Microsoft Excel
This module introduces students to Microsoft Excel with a focus on creating and managing workbooks and worksheets. It covers cell referencing, row and column operations, basic mathematical formulas and functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, and MIN, formatting of cells, sorting and filtering of data, creation of various types of charts including bar, line, and pie charts, conditional formatting, setting print areas, and using data validation tools such as drop-down lists.
Module 4: Microsoft PowerPoint
In this module, students will learn to create effective presentations using PowerPoint. Topics include creating and designing slides, choosing layouts and themes, inserting text, images, and other media, applying slide transitions and animations, running slideshow presentations, inserting audio and video elements, and exporting or printing presentations for different purposes.
Module 5: Internet and Email Basics
This module introduces the basic use of the internet including using web browsers, search engines, creating and managing email accounts, composing and sending emails, adding attachments, managing inbox and folders, and downloading information and files from the internet.
Module 6: Practical Projects and Assessment
This final module includes hands-on projects where students will create documents such as resumes, applications, and reports in Word, prepare mark sheets, bills, and inventory sheets in Excel, and design presentations for business or education in PowerPoint. The module concludes with assessments including online tests and assignments to evaluate the practical understanding of the student
